Cassie loves to dance. She dreams of becoming a famous dancer one day with lots of adoring fans. There's one problem though - she's terrified of dancing in front of people. Open Day at Miss Kaye's dance school could be the worst day ever! Or are there some major surprises in store for Cassie? And will she ever make friends with Jake, the best dancer in the class?
This story will appeal to both boys and girls, many of whom know how scary it can be to perform in front of an audience for whatever reason, in this case at a jazz dance class, and encourages them to follow their dreams.
Chapter 1 extract.
Cassie loved to dance.
At school one morning her teacher asked the class what they wanted to be when they grew up. When it was her turn Cassie was nervous.
'I want to be a dancer on television,' stuttered Cassie. Her cheeks felt hot.
'And I want to dance in a troupe at pop concerts.' Her hands felt sweaty. 'With famous singers like Stella.' She felt funny - she had to sit down.
Cassie closed her eyes. She thought about how much she wanted to be a dancer when she grew up. Cassie went to dance classes three times a week.
